Yes. If you are the sponsor or host of a regatta, fishing tournament, boat race, marine parade or exhibition in Oregon, you’ll be required to complete a Marine Board application and obtain an event permit. Submit the application at least 30 days before the event.

Additionally, a new law in Oregon requires marine events on any federally navigable waterways to have a federal permit and these permits have a processing time of 135 days.
